The short story: Flew out of Anchorage on Friday April 30th. Dad met me in MSP where we loaded down the Toyota with "essentials", then headed up to Anchorage via Bemidji, Winkler, Edmonton, Fort St. John, Fort Nelson, Liard River Hot Springs, and Destruction Bay. After 3300 miles, 5 and 1/2 days driving 12 plus hours a day all I can say is...wow! The incredible vastness of the northern Provinces/state is staggering. I mean we would actually drive for 150 miles at a time...without a cell signal...no tweeting for me while cruising up to AK.
